Nongine ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal information.

1. Data We Collect

Account data: When you sign up, we collect your email address, display name, and profile picture from your OAuth provider (Google or GitHub).

Project data: If you use cloud sync, your project files (story nodes, assets, settings) are stored on our servers.

Usage data: We collect anonymous usage analytics (page views, feature usage) to improve the product. No personal information is included.

Local data: If you use the desktop app without cloud sync, your data stays entirely on your device. We do not access it.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your data solely to provide and improve the Nongine service:

  • Authenticate your account and maintain your session
  • Store and sync your projects across devices
  • Publish your novels to public URLs
  • Send important service updates (no marketing emails unless opted in)
  • Analyze aggregate usage patterns to improve the product

3. Data Storage & Security

All cloud data is stored on Supabase infrastructure with encryption at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3). Our servers are hosted in the United States. We implement row-level security policies to ensure you can only access your own data.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage
  • Google / GitHub — OAuth authentication providers
  • Vercel — web hosting and CDN

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any other third parties.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access, update, or delete your account data at any time
  • Export all your project data
  • Request complete deletion of your account and all associated data
  • Opt out of usage analytics

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication sessions. We do not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notification. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
